In the dark times
Will there also be singing?
Yes, there will also be singing.
About the dark times.”
― Bertolt Brecht
Hello all,
It’s hard to know how to write a promotional email when your heart is broken at the dark times that are coming. And yet I do believe it’s more important than ever to make things (not just art, music, theatre, dance, but also gardens, communities, safe spaces, etc).
This coming Thursday, November 14, 5-7pm, marks the opening of MELT (topographic remix) as part of the Arctic Voices exhibit at the New Bedford Art Museum in New Bedford, MA. Hazel and I will be there! This installation is a spatial remix of my film MELT: the memory of ice, a speculative music-film imagining a future without winter, featuring the lush voices of Moving Star as well as a vocal solo by Hazel.

Here’s the trailer for the film itself:
I would LOVE to see some of you there, as well as during our trip. Hoping to put in some time in Providence. The show will be up from November 14, 2024 - February 23, 2025, and the museum is open Thursday-Sunday, 9am-5pm.
If you can’t make it, I am hoping it will be on the film festival circuit, and will let you all know if it’s been selected.
Let’s stay connected. Let’s be the stars lighting up the darkness.
Love,
Betsey
Experiencing this art installation was mesmerizing! It brilliantly captures the tension between chaos and order. The nostalgic Arctic vibe, combined with the ethereal whites and vibrant purples, creates a stunning visual contrast. The play of light adds depth and emotion, leaving me feeling both inspired and reflective. I am so happy i got to experience it. Nice work.
